Richard Byrne

Richard Byrne has over thirty years’ experience in managing construction projects both nationally and internationally. He started his employment with MCCA as the client representative on site during construction of the 5 Star Four Seasons Hotel in Dublin. He has directly project managed a range of projects including St. Anne’s Golf Club house in Dublin; a retail and apartment development in Ballymun, Dublin; the Fit out of Joe Duffy Motors BMW car dealership in Finglas, Dublin; and medical centres in both Navan, Co. Meath and Donaghmede, Dublin. Richard was also a member of the project team working on the Killeen Castle project.

More recently Richard has project managed to completion a number of distressed developments including a multi storey apartment development Cedar Grove, Dublin. He has also managed on-going maintenance and remedial works to a number of properties on behalf of Receivers including the refurbishment of the Square shopping centre, Tallaght; Fleet Street Hotel, Dublin; as well as the Google offices of Gasworks House and Gordon House in Dublin.

Richard has been appointed as a project monitor on a number of hotel developments on behalf of both investors and financial institutions. These developments include the very impressive Farnham Estate development comprising restoration works to Farnham House, construction of the hotel, leisure and conference facilities in Co. Cavan for investors. Monitoring roles for investors for the construction of Johnston House Hotel, Enfield, Co. Meath and the Radisson Hotel in Letterkenny, Co. Donegal. He was also appointed as project monitor, on behalf of the investors on the fifteen storey ‘Montevetro’ Office Development in Dublin. The building was subsequently purchased by Google as their European Headquarters.

Richard has extensive experience in overseeing and controlling contractor snagging works and was involved with the design teams at Killeen Castle and Farnham House to ensure contractors complied with the relevant standards and design intent. More recently Richard has carried out a full inspection and snagging report on behalf of the Bank syndicate on the remedial works undertaken at the former Jury’s Hotel, Ballsbridge now known as D4 Developments.

  • Diploma in Site Management from the Construction Industry Federation
