Killeen Castle

Killeen Castle is located in Dunsany, County Meath, Ireland and has occupied this site since around 1180. The current building is a restoration of a largely 19th century construction, burnt out in 1981.

McCarthy & Associates were commissioned to Project Manage the design development of a World Class Five Star Hotel, Golf Course and Luxurious Residential Development.

The proposed Killeen Castle Five Star Hotel was planned within the existing castle building plus extensions to accommodate 180 luxury bedrooms plus restaurants, bars, function rooms and spa. The castle buildings were restored, however, the development of the Five Star Hotel never proceeded.

The Killeen Castle Golf Course. This18 hole Jack Nicklaus signature golf course, prestigious clubhouse, long game academy and Dave Pelz short game academy was completed and opened in in May 2009. The Killeen Castle Golf Course hosted the 2011 Solheim Cup and has had the privilege of hosting the Ladies Irish Open from 2010 until 2012.
